Email Instructions for PromptSite Customers
Outlook and
other clients
To add your
new email, open the “Accounts” settings on your email client (Outlook or
other). Add the new account and as you
enter the settings check to make sure you do the following:
1.
In the “Account Name”
enter the full email address: username@promptsite.com (like martha@ promptsite.com only use your
domain, not promptsite.com)
2.
For both Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing (SMTP) enter this for
the server information: mail.promptsite.com (use your
domain, not promptsite.com)
3.
DO Check the “My server requires authentication” box.
4.
Do NOT check the “Logon using Secure Password
Authentication”
5.
For Outlook Express, the screen shots on the next page may
be helpful.
Webmail
You can log
in to your account using just your web browser like Internet Explorer or
Firefox by going to http://promptsite.com/webmail (again,
use your domain instead of promptsite.com, but add “/webmail” at the end). Your user name is your full email
address. Once logged in there
you will see two options “Horde” and “SquirrelMail” - - either can be used to
view your mail.
Changing
your password, Forwarding and Auto Respond
You can
change your password, have your email forwarded to another account or set an
automatic response by logging in and clicking the links at the bottom of the
page.
